Master of specialization in tourism

THE OBJECTIVE: the final objective of the Master is to provide an overall approach to the political, economical, financial, managerial and psycho-social problems related to tourism development as well as all the applicable techniques for tourism development planning, marketing and management.

IT IS INTENDED FOR: graduates who want to receive specific training in the tourism sector and people with high school diplomas who are currently working in Official Tourism Offices or in private tourism enterprises.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE: a limited number of students are accepted. The School Director selects the candidates on the basis of their qualifications.

THE METHOD: the lessons are integrated with working groups, guided readings, debates, discussions of case histories and seminars. The participants can also benefit from didactic aids such as the text-books and technical notes provided by the professors.

PERIOD: during the 1997/98 academic year, two editions of the Master wild be held. The first one will start on November 2, 1997 and will end on May 30, 1998. The second will start on May 2, 1998 and will end on November 30, of the same year.

THE SYLLABUS: the Master is an intensive Course with lessons every day. The Course will be given in Italian.

- Sociology and Psychology of. Tourism
- Statistics of Tourism

2. Policy of Development

- Physical Planning
- Tourism Law
- Environment Economics

3. Management

- Tourism Marketing
- Economics and Techniques of Travel Agencies
- Economics and Techniques of Hotel Enterprises

III. APPLIED COURSE
Advertising and Public Relations
System Approach
Congress Techniques

IV. SEMINARS
Seminars and case studies with interdisciplinary
methods, with the participation of domestic
and foreign experts.

Exams and final certificate: The final certificate of Attendance and Proficiency will be given to the participants who have:
- attended regularly (at least 50% of the lessons for each single subject);
- passed the exams required by the syllabus;
- presented a written thesis accepted at the final colloquium.

N.B. The participants are given due notice that the Director of the School reserves the right to modify the above program.

Stages: 3/6 months work stages with companies in the tourism and hotel sector both in Italy and abroad will be organized during the Course within the limits of the law regulations. Participation at these stages is at the total judgement of the School Director.
